Marketing Agency Job: I Finally Got One!

After travelling around Australia for a couple of years and spending time in Kangaroo Island, I decided it was time to put my marketing degree to work and find myself a job in a digital marketing agency.

After doing some searching and applying for some jobs, I came across the perfect role in Adelaide at a The Marketing Department where I could apply my studies as a content writer and social media specialist.

Digital Marketing

I’ve always had a passion for online marketing and my goal has been to work in a marketing agency who offers a wide range of services in this market.

It’s very exciting to finally get a job after all this travelling, and I can’t wait to get back into the workforce and get stuck into working again (it’s been too long!).

The Marketing Department

Video Production

I’m super excited to also get stuck into some video production again (I did a fair bit of this in University and as a freelancer for a couple of years as well) making promotional videos for a handful of clients.

Adelaide

Adelaide is a small place in South Australia, but it is a great place to live and I’ve made a lot of friends already on my travels who live there so it should be pretty easy to fit in there, and feel at home immediately!

I’ve found a nice place in Norwood to rent which will make the transition from travelling back into full time work much easier.

Summary

It’s been a great journey being able to travel all around the world and in particular Australia. I can’t wait to start the new chapter of my life where I will be able to start using all of my studies and the experience I’ve gained from travelling.

Meeting new people and interacting with new clients will be an amazing chance to expand my skills, and take the next step in my life!

Update!

So I’ve actually been doing some great work on some really fun accounts helping them sell their products and services around around. The most recent one is helping these great guys called Esena implement their Victorian air conditioner program – which has been extremely successful!

I can’t wait to share with you the next steps of my marketing journey – it’s been going really well so far!

Top 3 Islands to Visit in Australia

If you want to spend your vacation on a beautiful island, Australia has more than eight thousand islands. This means that you can have any possible type of experience during your vacation, because these islands cover everything you can dream of.

Here are my top three islands to visit in Australia:

1. Kangaroo Island
2. Fraser Island
3. Maria Island

Kangaroo Island, South Australia

Kangaroo Island is an Australian island with more than 500 kilometers of coastline, native bushland, wild animals and pristine beaches with absolutely breathtaking scenery, and some of the best accommodation on Kangaroo Island.

This place has some of the best views and wildlife on the Australian continent. You can see a lot of kangaroos, fur seals, sea lions and koalas living their life in their natural habitat. This is a natural environment that has not been altered by man, with three great places that can make you understand how the locals are living: The Dudley Peninsula, Central and South Coast and Kingscote.

Besides beaches and wildlife, the place has historic lighthouses, dramatic cliffs, underground caves, amazing food, 18 wineries and even species exclusive to the island. You can reach the island either by ferry, or by direct flights from Adelaide. Kangaroo Island is popular among tourists because:

  • There is a great variety of things to visit
  • You can see wildlife in their natural habitat
  • The beaches are spectacular

In my research, I have found that tripadviser has the best range of accommodation, villas, and self contained housing which will make your stay that much better!

Fraser Island, Queensland

Fraser Island is located in the western part of Australia and it is the largest sand island in the world (124 kilometers long). The island has more than one hundred freshwater lakes. There are forests that grow directly from the sand. The rough terrain offers you the opportunity to drive four wheel vehicles while you admire the amazing landscapes. The Island can be reached from multiple locations by ferries.

Fraser Island can make your vacation pleasant by offering the following:

  • You can swim in freshwater (lakes) and saltwater (ocean)
  • There are unique forests and spectacular sand formations
  • You can drive a four wheel vehicle and admire the natural splendors

There are 354 known species of birds to observe

Maria Island, Tasmania

Maria Island is not just a place that is wildlife abundant, but is also a sanctuary because it has many historical ruins and is the subject of many stories. This island is located off the east coast of Tasmania and can only be reached by ferry. You can visit the island by walking or cycling. If you want a stop on the beach, you will have a peaceful and colorful experience. The marine life is thriving in the area.

Maria Island is best known for the following features:

  • Adventurous walking and cycling along the ruins
  • Peaceful and relaxing beaches
  • The majestic sea cliffs and the bird watching hot spots can add thrill to your vacation

As a conclusion, you can find everything you need if you pick the island that suits your requirements and taste. These are just three of my favorite Australian islands. If you have any questions, email me via my contact page.

An Overview on Why You Should Visit Australia

Welcome to the first post on my blog! I decided to focus on Australia (and my favorite Aussie destination) for my first few posts as it is where inspired me to move away to my career in software and into travel. Enjoy

Background

Australia is the smallest continent in the world based on the Latin word Australis, meaning “South”. With amazing wilderness landscapes, unique culture and endless beaches with golden sands, make Australia a paradise. Panoramas that seem to emerge from postcards greet you at every step: the Sydney Opera House, one of the most spectacular buildings in the world, the Harbour Bridge or Harbour Cook are only a couple.
The first document of the continent was made in 1606 by Dutch seafarers. In 1770 James Cook explored the eastern coast, mapped it and claimed it for the British Empire; was later transformed into penal colony and as the population grew from Europe, the indigenous population disappeared almost entirely.

Renowned worldwide for its natural wonders, wide spaces, beaches, deserts, eucalyptus bushes and isolated areas called the ‘Outback’, Australia is still one of the countries with the highest rate of urbanization. The country is well known for attractions in major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Certainly there are spiders and poisonous snakes, but that does not stop tourists going to visit  …. and this of good reason. From prehistoric sheltered canyon of Kakadu National Park, to the white sails of the Opera House in Sydney, Australia offers something for everyone.

Visit Western Australia and lie on a beach with white sand, or hide in the labyrinth of meadows rich in Melbourne, or let yourself be overwhelmed by red desert sunset in Uluru and you will only see a snippet of Australia. Or point your steps south, to visit old watchmen giants forests of Tasmania, or stay in Sydney’s beautiful city of surf, sun and entertainment. With huge red deserts, deep blue sky, sunlit beaches and vast green and wet lands, Australia is great, bold and full of contrasts. Experience the kaleidoscope of bright colors that proudly displays this country.

My Favorite Place

If I were heading back to Australia tomorrow, I’d fly straight to Adelaide. Usually people would venture to Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane but I found it easiest to get around, lots to do and of course, beautiful Kangaroo Island. There are beautiful beaches, festivals, great inner-city vibe, museums and so much more. You can go fishing, swimming, shopping, bike riding or head out for a great bite to eat and some local wine. Kangaroo Island has scenery that rivals The Greek Islands and vast stretches of untouched land. I could go on for days… KI will probably be the topic of my next post.

Curiosities

  • The population of wild camels in Australia has surpassed one million copies for a living are forced to devour the meager vegetation of the continent, thus accelerating the process of desertification and soil erosion, are so very pronounced in Australia.
  • Sydney Opera House represents one of the architectural wonders of the world, is recognized worldwide as an iconic structure of Australia.
  • Ayers Rock (Uluru) is a wonder in itself but also has the world’s most silent restaurant called ‘Sounds of Silence’.
  • It’s said that the most beautiful sunrise in the world can be admired at Uluru.
  • The salt lakes are found in Australia, with reddish waters. Beautiful colors of lakes is produced by the Salina, which gives it a red pigment.

Conclusion

There is no reason not to visit Australia regardless of whether with family, friends or by yourself. It is truly a unique country (continent) which needs to be visualized in depth.
